On the flipside, if you are looking to escape the crowds and relax, Carnival Jubilee might not be the ship for you. Aft of Deck 8, the Marina Bar serves up upgraded versions of classic cocktails, like the Marina Cape Cod and the Sailor’s Iced Tea. During the day, the Watering Hole is an outdoor bar on the Deck 8 promenade with refreshing drinks like the Watermelon Crush. The Havana Bar offers drinks like a Daiquiri Clasico or the Hotel Nacional, which perfectly complements the live music or Fun Squad events in this Deck 8 Latin-inspired venue.

The food on Carnival Jubilee is very good, with a couple of misses but mostly hits. Even better, most of the food options are included in the price of your fare. Those that aren’t have a reasonable fee, rather than the exorbitant fees we’ve seen pop up lately on some cruise ships. There’s the smaller one-story Atlantic Restaurant on deck 6 midship and the larger two-story Pacific Restaurant on decks 6 and 7 aft. These restaurants offer set early and late dinner seatings along with Anytime Dining.

For me, the three most notable are the Golden Mermaid, Dr. Inks Ph. D. The first has a golden vintage theme that evokes buried treasure, and it serves interesting concoctions that include smoke bubbles and glitter. Where does Carnival Jubilee sail to?
The Fun Times daily program and the Carnival HUB app list the daily activities occurring throughout the ship, and there were many of them. Many of these activities are pretty standard offerings on Carnival Cruise Line ships. The jogging track also takes seven laps to equal one mile, and there’s a sports court with games like soccer, basketball, and pickleball. The 9-hole mini-golf course offers rounds of fun for families and kids of all ages.
Pool Deck
The Shores Zone (midship-aft on deck 8) is themed on seaside scenery (piers and beaches) and features a 3-deck-high (decks 6-7-8) fish art installation. The Carnival Jubilee deck plan centers around the top decks for outdoor activities. The lido deck (Deck 16) is where the bulk of those activities take place. Here, you’ll find the ship’s main swimming pool, flanked by casual grab-and-go food options, bars, lounge chairs and seating nooks.
It's an added-fee experience during which passengers (one to two people per ride) zoom twice around the track on a motorcycle-style vehicle that allows you to throttle up or down to a speed that suits you. Outside, the area continues with The Patio, which features a pool and hot tubs, and neighboring The Watering Hole, a bar that serves the space. For Carnival Jubilee, Meyer Werft contracted Almaco Group for planning, designing, building, supply/installation and commissioning of the ship's all provisioning stores. The project (completed in December 2023) included fixed furniture, air supply connections, electrical works, carpeting, ceiling enhancements, finishing of 1000+ staterooms.
Group exercise classes, from cycling to yoga, are offered throughout the cruise for a fee. If taking a class is a must for you, sign up early, as they do tend to fill up. The ship feels Texas, and not just because it sources a lot of passengers from the Lone Star state.

These are the building blocks of an amazing experience — delectable elements that combine with great service to offer an evening to remember. Rudi’s Seagrill™ is the brainchild of cookbook author and master chef Rudi Sodamin. He has years of experience pleasing palates of vacationers… and this guy loves serving up a smile as much as Carnival does! But he’s serious about seafood, and an evening at Rudi’s proves it through the courses.
With afternoon coffee in hand (albeit later than usual), we headed back to our cabin to unpack and get settled in before dinner. And of course, with Gwen Stefani as godmother, the formalities ended with a mini-concert featuring some of her top hits. Now, we can add Gwen Stefani to our growing list of musicians that we’ve seen perform at cruise ship events.
